The Christian Enquiry Agency collects information about users of Christianity.org.uk for these reasons:
1. To respond to requests for information about the Christian faith from individuals.
2. To safeguard enquirers who are vulnerable or minors and those who communicate with them.
3. To help improve the service we offer.
CEA is absolutely committed to protecting the privacy of those who contact us. We will never share your information with others without your consent. You will only receive email or post from a professional or volunteer associate of CEA if you have specifically requested it. We will not share your postal or email address with a third party.
What information do we request?
We collect information from people who contact us through the ‘Find Out More’ facility of Christianity.org.uk. If they apply for printed information we request a name and postal address. If they ask a question about the Christian faith we request an email address. These addresses and the content of conversations stay on our files.
We ask whether the person who contacts us is under or over 16 years of age. If a minor contacts us, our reply is copied for transparency to the Agency’s Safeguarding Coordinator, who retains the services of the Churches’ Child Protection Advisory Service.
Donors to and supporters of CEA who have asked to be informed regularly about our work have their information stored on a separate database from those who are seeking information about the Christian faith.
Who will have access to your information?
The database is accessible to the coordinator and administrator of CEA. Occasionally we quote from correspondence in our publicity when someone has spoken positively of the service we provide, but that information is never attributed to a named person and could never be traced to its author. If you have contacted CEA and wish for your details to be removed, or if you have any questions, contact us at enquiries [at] christianity.org.uk.
