No parent should ever lose a child. But what if they do? Can they have any hope? If so, hope for what?
Jimmy Mizen was killed senselessly in an unprovoked attack in May 2008, the day after his 16th birthday. This short film traces his family’s struggles in the months that followed and features profound insights from the tragic story of Jimmy's death as his parents talk openly about trying to come to terms with their loss.
It examines the link between faith and hope, and shows that hope can prevail even when such desperate tragedy strikes.
Gareth Squire, Director of the Christian Enquiry Agency, says,
"Christmas is the time when we recall God's ultimate act of solidarity with us. Hope penetrates our despair; light shines in the darkness. We made this film because we wanted some good to come out of the tragedy of the loss of a precious human life."
The film was commissioned by the Christian Enquiry Agency and Church Army as part of their commitment to making 2008 a year of hope.
